Valuation Surveying Graduate (Non-Civil Service Vacancy)
Entry Requirements :
Candidates should:
- have a cognate degree in Surveying/Land Management/Real Estate or a qualification which satisfies in full the academic requirements for corporate membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) in the General Practice Division (See Note 1) obtained in 2024 or after (See Note 2); and
- have Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) (See Note 3), or equivalent.
Students sitting the final examination of an approved fully exempting degree/diploma course in the summer (before August) of 2025 may also apply. If selected, their engagement will be subject to their successful acquisition of the requisite academic qualification.
Note:

(2) Candidates who have obtained a relevant degree qualification before 2024 and are pursuing or have just obtained in 2024 or after another degree on a related subject on a full time basis may also be considered provided that the break between completion of the first relevant degree qualification and commencement of the related degree is not more than 18 months. If a candidate has pursued more than one related degrees, the aggregate period of breaks between the degrees should also not be more than 18 months.
(3) For non-civil service appointment purpose, ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 is accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(4) Training Allowance: The current honorarium for the first year of training period is HK$24,800 per month. Applicants should note that the amount of training allowance and the terms of employment are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of employment is made. The training allowance for the second year and after (up to the fourth year) are subject to adjustment on completion of each year of training having regard to the prevailing market conditions and other factors considered relevant by the Government.
Duties :
To undergo practical training under professional guidance to prepare for the Assessment of Professional Competence in the General Practice Division of the HKIS, leading subsequently to its corporate membership.
Terms of Appointment:
Valuation Surveying Graduates are graduate trainees engaged for a maximum period of 4 years to obtain the necessary training and pre-professional experience to meet the requirements of the General Practice Division of the HKIS and the requirements of an appropriate rank of the Valuation Surveyor grade. Valuation Surveying Graduates are not civil servants.

- Application forms [G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023)] are obtainable from any Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices, Home Affairs Department or any Job Centres of the Employment Services Division, Labour Department. The said form can also be downloaded from the Civil Service Bureau’s website (https://www.csb.gov.hk). The new version of application form for Government jobs G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) has been in use with effect from 26 July 2023. Candidates should use the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023). If candidates submit the old version form [G.F. 340 (Rev. 3/2013)], they will be required to fill in the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) afresh and submit it within seven days upon request. If candidates fail to submit the new G.F. 340 (Rev. 7/2023) within the stipulated deadline, their applications will not be processed further.
- Completed application forms, together with copies of certificates showing the results achieved in Chinese and English languages, transcripts, documents in support of applicants’ academic qualification, professional qualification as well as working experience and supporting documents mentioned in the entry requirements, should reach the contact address below on or before the closing date for application. Applications received after the stated closing date will NOT be considered.
- The postmark date on the envelope will be regarded as the date of application. Please specify the title of the post being applied for on the envelope and ensure the mail item bears sufficient postage. Applications which are incomplete, late, submitted by fax or email, not made in the prescribed form, or without the required documents under item (b) above will NOT be considered.
- Applicants may also apply online through the Civil Service Bureau’s website (https://www.csb.gov.hk). Candidates who apply online should submit copies of the above supporting documents WITHIN ONE WEEK after the closing date for application to the contact address below (or by email to appointments@rvd.gov.hk), and the online application number should be quoted on the envelope and copies of the supporting documents. If candidates fail to provide the supporting documents as requested, their applications will NOT be considered.
- Invitations for interview will be sent via email. Please ensure that an accurate email address is provided and that the email account can receive incoming emails properly. Candidates for the above vacancy who are not invited for interview by 31 July 2025 should assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
