Post-Secondary Student Summer Internship Programme 2024


Summer Intern – Urban Analytics / Urban Informatics / Geo-informatics / Data Science / Data Analytics / AI / Machine Learning

Allowance: HK $11,200 per month

Entry Requirements :

Applicants should:

  1. be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  2. be students studying full-time programmes offered by post-secondary institutions;
  3. have completed Year 2 or Year 3 of undergraduates of a bachelor degree in urban analytics, urban informatics, geo-informatics, data science, data analytics, AI, machines learning or similar subjects;
  4. be proficient in Microsoft Office and ArcGIS / R / Python; and
  5. be fluent in both Chinese and English.

Duties :

Assist in statistical and geospatial analysis, data cleansing, data validation and data modelling.

Period of Internship:

Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. Employment period is about 2 months from July to August 2024. They are normally required to work 44 hours per week.

Fringe Benefits for Summer Interns:

Rest day, statutory holidays, general holidays, sickness days, where appropriate, will be granted to successful candidates in line with the provisions in the Employment Ordinance. Summer interns are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Scheme Ordinance (Cap. 485).

  1. Students studying in local post-secondary institutions should approach the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions for application.
  2. Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should send a fax to (852)2152 0128 or email appointments@rvd.gov.hk for application forms. Completed application forms together with copies of certificates of their student status and academic transcripts should be posted to the above enquiry address on or before the closing date for application (according to the postmark). Candidates who are not invited for an interview by 31 July 2024 may assume that their applications are unsuccessful.
  3. Direct applications from local students will not be considered.

5 July 2024 (All students studying in local post-secondary institutions should observe the deadline set by the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions for application).
