Rates are charged at specified percentage(s) of the rateable value. For the Financial Year 2024-25:
- The rates percentage charge for all non-domestic tenements is 5%.
- For domestic tenements, the rates percentage charge for those with rateable value of $550,000 or below is 5%. For domestic tenements with rateable value over $550,000, the rates percentage charge for the first to third quarters of 2024-25 is 5%. Starting from 1 January 2025, rates are calculated according to the following progressive rates charge scale:

Rates are charged at a percentage of the rateable value of a property. For the Financial Years 2022-2023 and 2023-2024, the rates percentage charge is 5%.

The amount of Government rent payable is calculated at 3% of the rateable value of the property and is adjusted in step with any subsequent changes in rateable value.
